Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “This was a nasty attack which left a man seriously injured and we are working to find the person responsible.

“The bars and restaurants in our city centre should be safe spaces for us all to enjoy and we simply will not tolerate such violence on our streets.

“If you recognise the man pictured then please let us know, as we believe he may hold information vital to our ongoing investigation.

“Similarly, if you were in the Victoria Street area on the evening of Saturday 30 October and witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious then do let us know. Information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”
