Thieves stole £300 from 91-year-old woman

Police are investigating the theft of £300 from an elderly woman in Uxbridge have released images of two women they want to identify.

Shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, 13 July the woman, who is aged 91, withdrew £300 on Long Lane, Hillingdon before catching the U2 bus from Hillingdon Circus towards Brunel University.

Whilst on the bus she noticed the two women who can be seen in the images being released.

She saw them again when they entered her supported living accommodation and followed her into the lift, despite not appearing to have a genuine reason for being there.

When the victim got back into her flat, she checked her bag and realised the money she had withdrawn earlier the same day was missing.

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Dougall, from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “The elderly victim of this theft was understandably shaken by this experience.

“If there is any suggestion that an elderly victim has been specifically targeted after withdrawing money in our community, we will do our utmost to identify the person or people responsible.

“We are very keen to speak to the women in these photos and would urge the public to come forward if they can help us to identify them.”
