Detectives are appealing for information after a man was struck with a hammer during a robbery in Beckenham.
Police were called at 7:38am on Wednesday, 9 June to reports of an assault at the junction of St. Georges Road and Bromley Road.
It was reported that a 50-year-old man was approached by two men dressed in dark clothing who stole his watch.
They became involved in a struggle and the victim ended up on the floor where he was struck a number of times with a bright-handled hammer.
He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a broken arm before being discharged.
The pair ran off towards the High Street and past the Beckenham Methodist Church.
Detective Constable James Quigley, of the South Area Command Unit, said; “We have already conducted a wide range of enquiries, however we are appealing for the public’s help to track down those responsible.
“Did you see anything suspicious in the area at around the time of the incident or the two males running down the High Street? You could have vital information and we would like to speak to you as soon as possible.”
