The Metropolitan Police says a total of 17 weapons were seized by officers from the Central West Basic Command Unit during proactive patrols over the bank holiday weekend.
Officers from across Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster seized the items during weapon sweeps, vehicle searches and stop and searches.
The weapons included a variety of knives, baseball bats and an iron bar.
Detective Inspector Yasser Awad from the Central West Gangs Unit said: “This result is the combined efforts of many teams including the Violent Crime Taskforce, Safer Neighbourhood Teams, response officers, Gangs Unit and our Violence Suppression Units.
“Tackling violence is our top priority and from proactive policing during a busy weekend for London, our streets are now safer and a significant amount of knives and weapons have been removed, no doubt preventing further acts of violence.”
