Assault victim suffered serious injuries

Police officers in Glasgow are appealing for information following a serious assault that happened in the Maryhill Road area of the city on Monday (8 June).

A 53-year-old man was assaulted near the junction of Bilsland Drive, Maryhill Road and Queen Margaret Drive around 11.30am. He sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault. In particular they are looking for information on a blue car with up to four men inside that was at the junction at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Maryhill CID by calling Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1460 of Monday, 8 June, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
