West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after a woman suffered a serious stab injury at a house in Birmingham this morning.
The ambulance service alerted the force to the patient in Quarry House Close, Frankley, at 11.20am after she was found with a stomach injury.
She was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
Efforts are underway to trace the person responsible. House to house enquiries are being carried out and a CCTV trawl commenced.
Anyone who was in Quarry House Close at around 11am today and saw anything suspicious, a disorder or a man fleeing the scene is urged to contact the police via Live Chat on the force website or by calling 101 and quoting log 1365 from 14/5.
