Pedestrian dies in road collision

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Dunfermline.

The incident happened in the St Margaret Street area around 9.50pm on Wednesday (19 February). It involved a white Mercedes Benz A-Class and a 33-year-old male pedestrian. Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Nicola Young, of the road policing unit, said: “We’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this to contact us.

“We’re also specifically appealing to a person who spoke to the driver just after the incident happened.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3744 of 19 February.
