Attackers stole from assault victim

Detectives in Liverpool are issuing CCTV images of five men who may have information following a serious assault and robbery on Wednesday, 4 December.

At around 3.10am, a man in his 20s was attacked on Harrington Street in Liverpool City Centre. He was left unconscious and his wallet was stolen containing £400 cash together with his coat.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, including forensics, CCTV and witnesses.

Detective Inspector Phil Atkinson said: “We are working to piece together exactly what happened during this vicious attack and robbery.

“We think these five men pictured may hold valuable information so I’d ask them, or anyone who knows them, to contact the police as soon as possible.

“If you were in the Harrington Street area at the time and saw anything or have heard anything since, please come forward and we will take positive action to find those responsible and put them before the courts.

“We are also keen to hear from any taxi drivers who were in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.”
