Teenager stabbed in the arm

The Metropolitan Police is appealing for witnesses and any drivers with dashcam footage following an assault.

Officers were called at around 6:20pm on Thursday, 3 October to reports of a fight involving a number of men near to the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre on New Kent Road, SE1.

The fight spilled out on to the street before the suspects, described as black males, made off down New Kent Road.

A 16-year-old received stab injuries to his arm. He was taken to hospital before being discharged but will require ongoing treatment.

Detective Constable Caroline Jeffery from the Central South Command Unit said: “This fight took place during rush hour so there would have been many motorists and pedestrians in and around the Elephant and Castle roundabout at the time.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed this fight or any motorists who may have recorded some of the incident on dashcam footage to get in contact with police.

“A male was seriously assaulted and we need to find the people responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD6634/3Oct. Alternatively, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
