Assault victim suffered bleed on the brain

Detectives are releasing CCTV images of an assault in Westminster.

The victim was left with multiple facial injuries and a bleed on the brain after the attack in March.

At 9:39pm on Friday, 29 March the 66-year-old victim was working at a therapeutic Chinese massage parlour in Newport Court, Westminster when he spotted four young men entering the premises.

The group proceeded to taunt him so he gave chase out of the building and was subsequently punched in the face by one of the men. He fell to the floor and lost consciousness.

The victim was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital where he remained for five days.

The main suspect is described as a man in his early 20s of Southern European/Middle Eastern appearance.

He was thought to be around 5ft8 inches tall and of average build, with dark brown hair and stubble.

Detective Constable Tim Hallewell, from Westminster CID, said:

“The victim suffered multiple facial fractures, lacerations to his skull and a bleed on the brain as a result of this callous attack, which could have cost him his life.

“There is no place in society for unlawful and aggressive acts such as this.

“We are appealing for anyone with information about this brutal attack to come forward and assist us with our investigation.”
