Police seize more than 700 cannabis plants

Officers from Essex Police executed a drugs warrant in Elsenham over the weekend and seized more than 700 cannabis plants.

Acting on concerns from the public, officers from Braintree and Uttlesford executed a warrant at an address on New Road, Elsenham.

The team found a sophisticated cannabis cultivation and seized more than 700 cannabis plants along with equipment used as part of the cannabis cultivation.

The cannabis plants and all paraphernalia used to grow drugs will be destroyed.

Enquiries are ongoing in this investigation.

Inspector Colin Cox from the Braintree and Uttlesford Community Policing Team said: “We are listening to and acting on concerns raised from local residents about drug dealing and other crimes in the area. Drug dealing is often linked to organised and violent crime and we are working hard to keep the district safe.”
