Man struck by car in road rage attack

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was run over by a car and left recovering in hospital following a road rage incident.

The incident occurred at around 4:35pm on Saturday, 2 February, at Gallows Corner roundabout in Romford.

A minor collision had taken place on the roundabout between a BMW and Vauxhall Zafira with a foreign number plate.

A man got out from the front passenger seat of the Vauxhall and used a hammer to smash the rear window of the BMW. After the man had got back into the Vauxhall, that car was driven at the BMW driver who was standing near to his vehicle on the roadside.

The victim – a 36-year-old man – was knocked onto the bonnet and fell onto the road, sustaining serious but not life-threatening injuries. He has been taken to hospital where he remains for treatment.
