Merseyside Police were called just after 4pm yesterday afternoon (17th December) to reports of a cash in transit robbery on Great Homer Street, Liverpool.
A security guard was reportedly approached by an unknown man wearing a hooded jacket and balaclava while making a cash delivery to Home Bargains on Great Homer Street. The offender is said to have pushed the guard before making off on foot with the cash box.
Luckily, the security guard was unharmed, but shaken by the incident.
Inspector Graeme Rooney said: “We’d like anyone that believes they know who is responsible to come forward. This is a completely unacceptable incident and we’ll do all we can to identify the offender and ensure those also carrying out similar jobs feel safe to do so.
