Police are appealing for help to identify a man with distinctive tattoos following a violent robbery in Islington.
At approximately 10:15pm on Monday, 4 June, the victim – who is aged in his 50s – made his way home, close to Holloway Road, having spent the evening at a casino in Leicester Square.
He was grabbed by the suspect who repeatedly punched him the face before stealing his winnings. The victim was treated for facial injuries including a broken eye socket.
Officers believe that the victim was followed by the suspect from the casino into Leicester Square Underground Station. He then got off at Holloway Road Underground Station before the attack.
Detective Constable David Kelly, from the Central North Command Unit, said: “We are seeking the public’s help to trace the man who was captured on CCTV. He left the victim with serious head and facial injuries and it is important that we identify him.
“He has very distinctive tattoos on his left arm and torso. If you know who he is, then please contact us.”
