Burglars target club

Merseyside Police are appealing for information following an attempted burglary in Haydock in the early hours of this morning (Monday, 25 June). 

At around 00.15am, officers were called to Blackbrook Working Men’s Club in Sumner Street, to reports of a break in. It is reported that three men, described as wearing dark tracksuits, gained entry to the premises by breaking a window at the rear of the property, before searching inside and making off in the direction of West End Road when the alarm was raised. 

At this stage, it is believed the offenders left empty handed. CCTV, forensic and witness enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and locate those responsible. 

Detective Chief Inspector, Chris Sephton said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area prior to the incident at 00.15am, or who saw the making off from the scene to please come forward as any information, no matter how small, may prove vital to our investigation.
