Armed robbers at post office

Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to trace following a robbery at a post office in Wirral.

At 6.35pm on Monday 21st May two men, who were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered, entered the Post Office on Chapelhill Road in Moreton. They threatened members of staff with a hammer and knife before leaving with a quantity of cash.

Nobody was injured but the staff were left badly shaken by their ordeal.

It is believed the two males left in a green BMW car which was driven by a third man. The vehicle was seen to turn left onto Hoylake Road towards Moreton Cross.

An investigation is underway and CCTV and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out in the local area.

Detectives have also issued CCTV images of a man who they believe could help with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information about the robbery is asked to DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 18200105170.
