Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault in east London are appealing for the assistance of the public to trace a man they wish to speak to in connection with their investigation.
The offence took place in Walthamstow during the early hours of Sunday, 11 March. At some time between 3am and 4pm, the female victim was sexually assaulted near to Walthamstow bus station.
As she was getting off a Route N73 bus at the station, she was approached by the suspect who began to walk with her. A short time later he sexually assaulted her.
Following the attack the woman managed to push the suspect away, and he ran from the scene. It was at this point that she realised her phone and bank card were missing. Subsequent activity indicated that the card had been used to withdraw money in the area.
The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, in his mid to late 20s. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, a black jacket and a baseball cap. He was carrying a small ‘man bag’ and wore distinctive trainers with reflectors on the toecaps.
