Merseyside Police is appealing for information after an indecent exposure in Bootle last Friday afternoon, 16 March.
At around 3.15pm, a 13-year-old girl was walking home through Derby Park in Bootle, entering via the main entrance on Oxford Road. She was approached by a man who exposed himself before he left the area down Oxford Road. The victim went home and told her mum, who called police.
The suspect is described as being male, with olive skin, of chubby build, 5ft 8in tall, shaven hair, and black stubble wearing a green khaki jacket with dark coloured jeans.
Inspector Susan Stribling said: “The victim was unhurt but it is clearly an upsetting and concerning thing to happen to anyone at any time. She did exactly the right thing by getting away from the male and speaking to an adult, who reported the incident to us.
“This appears to be an isolated incident but I would like to reassure people that we are taking this incident seriously and we are keen to hear from anyone who has seen a male matching this description acting suspiciously or can tell us who they are, or anyone who may have had a similar encounter. This happened in daylight hours and other park users may have seen him lurking around.
“We would also like to appeal to anyone who lives close by or was passing Derby Park around 3.15pm to check your dashcam or home CCTV footage, as these details could be vital to identifying this man and bringing him to justice.”
