A London drug dealer has been jailed after more than 100 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were discovered on a hotel bed in Maidstone.
Police also seized a lock knife, £1,300 in cash and cannabis, after Kane White was seen selling drugs in the town last year and then followed back to a room where had been staying.
Plain clothes patrols had witnessed White making an exchange with a known heroin user on 29 September 2017. White then walked into a hotel in St Michael’s Road, where he was pursued and arrested. A search of his room led to the discovery of the drugs, money and knife.
White told police he was being forced to sell drugs by another dealer from Lewisham, in order to pay off a debt, adding he had never been involved in supplying heroin and crack cocaine before.
However, witnesses reported he had in fact been a regular visitor to the same hotel during the previous month.
Appearing before Maidstone Crown Court, White, aged 21 and formerly of Lewisham Road, Lewisham pleaded guilty to charges of possessing heroin with intent to supply, possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis and possession of criminal property – namely the £1,300 in cash.
He has now been sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment.
