Police appeal into business break-ins

Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following two business break-ins in the Falkirk and West Lothian areas.

The first incident happened around 1am on Wednesday 22 November at UK Accident Repairs in the Camps Industrial Estate, West Lothian.

The suspects arrived in a dark coloured Audi with a registration plate containing the numbers ’67’ and forced entry to an office door.

Once inside the suspects have searched the premises and attempted to steal a number of electrical items, however, have been disturbed and made off in the vehicle.

On the same night a second incident happened around 4.50am at the Post Office in the Princes Street area of California, Falkirk.

An Audi Q3 vehicle with the registration plate SK67 XTY was seen on Princes Street and entry had been forced to the front of the premises.

Three suspects then exited the premises and threatened a member of the public with an angle grinder.

The suspects had attempted to steal the ATM machine from inside the premises, however were disturbed and left in the Audi in the direction of Maddiston.

Inquiries are continuing to trace those responsible and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Liam Harman from Forth Valley Divisions Priority Crime Team said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw an Audi vehicle in the Falkirk and West Lothian areas overnight on Wednesday 22 November or who saw any suspicious activity in the areas.

“The suspects are all described as male and we believe both incidents have been carried out by the same people.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who recognises this vehicle or who knows who is responsible to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Stirling Police Station via 101, quoting incident numbers 0143 (West Lothian) or 0255 (Falkirk) of 22 November. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
