Detectives in Islington investigating a serious assault have released CCTV stills of two men they would like to trace.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to City Road, EC1 at around 3:30am on Thursday, 27 July following an assault.
Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.
A 20-year-old man suffered a fractured jaw and a fractured finger after he was attacked by three men.
The suspects had approached a large group of people on their way home from a night out.
The 20-year-old man was attacked after he asked two men to leave when they began talking to female members of the group.
He was punched to the ground by one of the three suspects, and a 19-year-old man in the victim’s group was also assaulted after he tried to intervene.
The suspects also pushed a 22-year-old woman to the ground after she tried to intervene.
The 20-year-old man was then subjected to a sustained attack, during which he was repeatedly kicked in the head while on the ground.
T/Detective Constable Jess Cutler-Shepherd of the Central North Command Unit, said: “This was a vicious assault carried out after a minor dispute, which has left one of the young victims with serious injuries.
“If you recognise either of the men in the images, we would ask that you get in touch with us.”
If you know who these men are or you have any information about the incident, call the Central North Command Unit CID on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
