Appeal following fatal collision

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal collision.

Police were called at 7:50am today (Wednesday, 27 September) to Chelsea Bridge. A lorry had been involved in a collision with a cyclist.

The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

The cyclist, a 36-year-old woman, was taken to a west London hospital where she died. Her next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been taken to a central London police station. Enquiries continue.
