West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, after a man was deliberately run over by a white Transit style van in Coventry.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured and remains in an induced coma in hospital. His condition is critical and his parents have flown to the UK from abroad to maintain a vigil at his bedside
Detective Inspector Stuart Bell from West Midlands Police said: “We are appealing for anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
“This was a brutal and deliberate act of violence towards the victim, who was hit by the reversing van at high speed. We are urging anyone who may information on the white transit van or its driver to please get in touch.
“The man was found with serious injuries near to the Unicorn working men’s club in Holbrooks Lane at around 11.40pm on 3rd August. I’d like to encourage anyone living or visiting the area at the time to cast their minds back and consider if they did see anything that may help us with this investigation.
“We have spoken to a number of witnesses already but would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.”
