Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are appealing for information following a stabbing on a bus in Plumstead.
The offence occurred on Wednesday 12 July at 9pm. The victim, a 54-year-old man, was travelling on a Route 99 bus on Plumstead High Street when the bus stopped at a bus stop at the junction with Rockmount Road, SE18.
The driver of the bus would not allow the suspect to enter the bus after he tried to board it without an Oyster card. The victim assisted the driver in asking the suspect to leave the bus. An argument ensued and the suspect then proceeded to stab the victim in his left thigh.
The suspect then made off towards Rockmount Road.
Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and the victim was taken to a south London hospital. The victim sustained a deep laceration to his left inner thigh.
The suspect is described as a black male, aged between 18 and 22 years old. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a capital ‘A’ on the front, a khaki hooded top with Airmax written across his chest, blue jeans and black trainers/plimsolls with white soles and white laces.
Officers have released CCTV images of the suspect and ask anyone who recognises him, or has any information about the incident, to contact Sgt Ian Mitchell on 07500 607652. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or you can tweet @MetCC with any information.
