Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an attempted burglary at a supermarket in Wirral in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 11 July).
At just after 12.30am offenders attempted to force their way into the Aldi supermarket on Port Causeway, Bromborough, but were disturbed by a delivery driver and made off from the scene in two Audi cars.
Detective Inspector Mike Dalton said: “Despite it being the early hours we believe that there were a number of people in the area at the time who witnessed this incident and may have information which could assist with our investigation.
“I would ask anyone who was in the vicinity who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously, or saw the two Audi cars driving around the area to contact us. Any piece of information, however small, could be vital for our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 2819 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111.
