Robbers grabbed hold of victim

Detectives from Merseyside Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Broadgreen.

At about 10.20pm on Saturday, 25 March it was reported two males approached a woman walking home from work on Thomas Drive.

One of the offenders demanded the victim hand over cash and searched through her handbag. The second offender grabbed the victim around the neck. They took a quantity of cash.

The first offender is described as being in his late teens with stubble, around 6ft tall and of slim build. The second offender is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, in his late teens. Both were wearing hoods up and black bubble-type jackets.

Detective Constable Julie Bolton said: “This was a very frightening incident for the victim. Thankfully she wasn’t seriously injured during the incident, but was left extremely distressed.

“A man and woman very kindly came to the aid of the victim shortly after the incident – we would appeal to them to contact us as they may have information that could prove vital to our enquiries.

“I would like to reassure people who live locally and the victims of the robbery that we are doing everything we can to arrest the two males responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything, or who has any information regarding the incident which may help our inquiries to get in contact with us as soon as possible.”
